Evidence Based Writing Instruction for ABE/ASE, Session 1 & 2
GOAL AND OBJECTIVES
The goal of this module is to support participants in learning about, identifying,
and implementing research-based practices and strategies in the teaching and learning
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to
- Identify the key components of the writing process, including literature that discusses
the writing process.
- Identify research-based instructional strategies for supporting ABE, ASE, and ESL
students writing development.
- Apply a rubric to their studentsí writing to identify areas of strength and areas
that need attention.
- Complete a lesson plan that includes instruction that will help address studentsí
areas of need as identified in the rubric.
