This community of practice helps participants improve their writing instruction for their adult students by applying research-based instructional techniques. This hands-on workshop is intended to guide teachers to prepare and deliver instruction, including appropriate instructional supports that promote student achievement.Registration Information:This tailored regional CoP is hosted by the San Joaquin Adult Education Consortium. Participants from neighboring districts or regions may be admitted on a space-available basis. There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees.

This 2-hour session shows you how to integrate transferable skills seamlessly in the adult education classroom. Course Description:This course helps participants prepare their students to meet the adult education College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) in the area of English Language Arts (ELA). The course takes place entirely online and runs for four consecutive weeks. Weekly participation is required, though participants may, during a given week, log in whenever they wish. Two live webinars will be scheduled during the course; dates and times will be announced and posted. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of participation (14 hours); they are also eligible to apply to CSUS for 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) if they wish. Goal:Participants will be able to develop and revise lesson plans with activities, assignments, and assessments that align with standards and expectations of the CCRS.Registration Information:There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees.Registered participants will receive final confirmation and details by Friday, January 30, 2026.
