College and Career Readiness Standards: English Language Arts Implementation and Application (Online)
Course Description:This course helps participants prepare their students to meet the adult education College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) in the area of English Language Arts (ELA). The course takes place entirely online and runs for four consecutive weeks. Weekly participation is required, though participants may, during a given week, log in whenever they wish. Two live webinars will be scheduled during the course; dates and times will be announced and posted. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of participation (14 hours); they are also eligible to apply to CSUS for 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) if they wish. Goal:Participants will be able to develop and revise lesson plans with activities, assignments, and assessments that align with standards and expectations of the CCRS.Registration Information:There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees.Registered participants will receive final confirmation and details by Friday, January 30, 2026. Aligning CTE Standards to the CCRS and ELPS
This video provides adult educators, curriculum developers, and program leaders with practical guidance for aligning and integrating three essential educational frameworks: the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Model Curriculum Standards, the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) for Adult Education, and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) for Adult Education. Through examples and instructional strategies, viewers will learn how to connect career-focused content with academic readiness and language development goals to create more cohesive and effective learning experiences for adult learners.
