California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project

The Integrated Education and Training Design Toolkit guides users through a team-based approach to develop customized IET solutions that address the needs of adult learners and local businesses through four iterative phases: Research and Assess, Design and Plan, Develop and Implement, and Evaluate and Improve. This training outlines the process of curriculum alignment to help adult learners successfully transition within adult education programs and from adult education to post-secondary environments.

This training provides background to educators for teaching skills transferable from the classroom to the workplace and explicitly teaching how to articulate those skills. The training offers ideas for hands-on application of transferable skills in adult basic education (ABE) and adult secondary education (ASE) classrooms.

How can you prepare your learners to succeed in the workforce? Find out what employers say are essential skills for today's workforce. This Community of Practice shows you how to connect transferable skills in the English as a Second Language classroom to the workplace. It also offers examples of contextualizing ESL instruction easily by using workplace activities and forms.

This training guides agency teams in creating an action plan for putting into place the necessary foundations for implementing an Integrated Education and Training (IET) model that aligns with the agency’s IET vision.

This session uses CALPRO's research to practice approach to demonstrate contextualizing instruction with standards alignment and correspondence. Viewers will learn how to develop lessons that meet Career Technical Education (CTE), College and Career Readiness (CCR), and English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards by learning about the alignment and correlation between the three types of standards.
