California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project

The Enhancing Access for Refugees and New Americans project aims to support adult educators in developing and delivering high-quality IELCE/IET programming in alignment with an immigrant integration approach. Enhancing Access Spotlights describe and provide examples of specific aspects of IELCE/IET implementation. This Spotlight provides an overview of serving refugees in IELCE activities.

This brief explores the Integrated Education and Training (IET) model in California. It includes the definition, required components, models, and the process and strategies for program development and implementation. The brief also provides the policy guidelines from the California Department of Education and examples from CA adult education programs.
